End-to-end Data Models
With a background in Data Science and Operational Analysis, we’re accredited and experienced specialists in building end-to-end data models for complex problem-solving. We use the latest technology to build bespoke models to solve your complex problems.
From Concept To Delivery
From geographically locating defence assets to determining passenger flow and optimal UK Border Controls, we’re experts in breaking down problems and developing systems that solve them.
We train companies on how to implement those systems, all while providing full cloud-based data storage services to ensure that IT system is protected
Case Study: Ministry of Justice - Forensics
Prosecution Pipeline Analysis
2021
Oldfield Consultancy worked from concept to delivery on delivering a blueprint for big data analysis within the Ministry of Justice.
The MoJ found it a challenge to collate and analyse the data required from crime to prosecution. Oldfield Consultancy used big data skills alongside statistical analysis and visualisation to illustrate the prosecution journey. Working with specialists on DNA and Firearms, amongst other areas, and contextual analysis of crime scenes we pulled together a picture of the crime scene journey. We highlighted where there were gaps and errors and then blueprinted a big data analysis and technological implementation. We collaborated with multiple Universities who undertook data collection and cleaning via multiple police forces.
Case Study: Ministry of Justice - Courts
Courts Pipeline Analysis
2021
Oldfield Consultancy provided statistical input to the MoJ as the courts system had become severely backlogged. Through pipeline analysis, big data modelling and statistical modelling we were able to identify quick wins and improvements that could be effectively exploited to enable cases to be concluded faster.
Case Study: Home Office
Border Force Operations Post-Brexit
2018
Oldfield Consultancy worked from concept to delivery on delivering an optimal Border Transit model for the Home Office.
Using site visits efficiently, human behaviour was effectively captured as well as numerical data on elements such as queues, traffic schedules and passenger numbers. This enabled us to construct inaccurate Simul8 model along with additional analysis to determine an optimal solution to this problem.
Our analysis and contextual input led to discussions around traffic planning, passenger behaviour and human centred transit planning. Our recommendations have been taken forward to be implemented by UK Government.

Review and Audit of Core Home Office Models
2018
Oldfield Consultancy also acted in a review capacity in order to examine the core models that will support operational delivery of Border Force’s EU Exit strategy. Illustrating where evidence gaps affect policy decisions or put operational delivery at risk of failure. Advice was provided and implemented on the application of quality assurance and audit methods across the main department models.
Case Study: Royal Air Force
Review and Audit of Royal Air Force Capability Modelling
2019
Oldfield Consultancy was requested to review models initially constructed by PWC as the assumption base appeared to be problematic. After site visits and stakeholder workshop facilitations we re-wrote the code to reflect current assumptions. This enabled the air capability to be used more effectively. We were able to save money as well as put more air personnel in the sky.
Case Study: British Army
Review and Audit of British Army Warfare Modelling
2019
Oldfield Consultancy was requested to review a mothballed warfare targeting model. This model had an updated GUI but an archaic assumptions set. Through site visits and speaking with he stakeholders to elicit assumptions we were able to complete a code refresh. The analytical report discussed improvements and modernisations as well as integration to the new GUI’s.
Case Study: NATO
NATO Capability and IT Development
2018
Oldfield Consultancy led on the scoping and implementation of multi million € IT upgrade project. Implementing multiple systems dovetailing with multiple programmes of work. Leading the technical team with pen testing, regression testing and user requirements. Establishing training and implementation plans.
Auditing current programme of work in JISR and making recommendations for change management, process design and implementation.
Case Study: NATO
NATO Defence Capability
2016 – 2017
Oldfield Consultancy was contracted to provide multiple deliveries for NATO. We were tasked to develop and implement the existing modelling platform for NATO in bespoke code. We were tasked to update existing capability in conjunction with stakeholder communication and workshops. We also provided statistical outreach to Afghanistan in order to aid the delivery of rebuilding the country.
